    Anzhi deny Ronaldo move

Anzhi sporting director Roberto Carlos seen at Real training ground

Cristiano Ronaldo: Highly unlikely to leave for Anzhi despite being 'sad'

Anzhi Makhachkala have no interest in signing Cristiano Ronaldo, according to their sporting director Roberto Carlos.
Speculation has linked the Portugal forward with a move away from Real Madrid after he revealed he was 'sad' about certain things at the Bernabeu.
With Carlos visiting the training ground at Madrid over the weekend, those rumours only increased given the substantial budget available to the free-spending Russian club.

But the former Brazil international has admitted he doesn't expect to sign Ronaldo, although he insists there will be high-profile arrivals continuing to flock to Dagestan.
"Lots of people have asked me that," Carlos told AS when asked about signing Ronaldo.
"We haven't come to sign Cristiano. We are, however, thinking about signing some quality players for next season.
"Cristiano shouldn't worry, people like him a lot. Problems can be resolved."

    Hamburg chief fears for finances

Signings of Van der Vaart and others could put club in red
    Last Updated: September 10, 2012 4:55pm

Rafael van der Vaart: Joined Hamburg from Tottenham over the summer

Hamburg chairman Carl-Edgar Jarchow has admitted concern over the financial impact their summer transfer business, including the signing of Rafael van der Vaart, will have on the club.
The German outfit splashed out around £16.7million on the captures of Van der Vaart from Tottenham, Petr Jiracek from Wolfsburg and Milan Badelj from Dinamo Zagreb in the transfer window just passed.
The signings were made after Hamburg made an unsuccessful start to the latest Bundesliga campaign, while also crashing out of the German cup.

Jarchow admits the money spent is likely to hit the club hard and expects them to be operating in the red.
He told Norddeutscher Rundfunk: "This (the extra money spent on players) is a burden for me. I cannot deal with it that easily.
"Fortunately these players are all of an age that means they will have certain value in the future.
"But I definitely fear that this will see us operating in the red. No doubt."

    Swans swoop for Tiendalli

Dutchman gives Laudrup more options after Taylor injury
    Last Updated: September 10, 2012 5:19pm

Dwight Tiendalli: Has signed for Swansea until end of the season

Swansea have signed Dutch left-back Dwight Tiendalli on a free transfer until the end of the season, subject to Premier League and international clearance.
The capture of the 26-year-old, who was a free agent following his release by FC Twente at the end of last season, comes after Swans regular Neil Taylor suffered a broken ankle which will see him miss the rest of the campaign.
Tiendalli completed a medical at the Liberty Stadium on Monday before the signing was confirmed on Swansea's official website.
    Familar

The defender will recognise some familiar faces in Michael Laudrup's squad, having previously played alongside Michel Vorm, Jonathan de Guzman and Kemy Agustien.
Tiendalli says former Feyenoord team-mate De Guzman encouraged him to make the move to South Wales.
He said: "I spoke with Jonathan about the club and all he said was positive things.
"He talked very fondly about the people, players and fans here.
"And, of course, the style of football here is very, very attractive. I love this style and it was a big attraction for me.

"I'm looking forward to working under Michael Laudrup, who is a massive name in football, and showing him what I have to offer.
"Playing in the Premier League is something I have always wanted to do - it's the best league in the world.
"I'm sure I will fit in very well because I share the same philosophy as the club. Having started my career in Ajax's Youth side, I see the style of play here is one that has a real Dutch and Spanish mix, and that will really suit me.
"I can't wait to work hard in training and try to force myself into the starting XI."
Swansea will look to build on their bright start to the Premier League season when they take on Aston Villa on Saturday and Tiendalli hopes to play some part.
    Opportunity

"I am here to impress the manager as much as possible and try to play as many games as I can," added Tiendalli.
"I know my opportunity comes after an unfortunate injury for Neil Taylor, but hopefully I can bring experience to the squad and more options for the manager.
"It would be great to play on Saturday against Aston Villa, but my concentration first and foremost is to impress the manager in training and get used to my new team-mates."
