    Owen made 'right decision'

Stoke striker says he snubbed two other Premier League offers

Michael Owen: Striker confident that he is right in joining Stoke City

Stoke City striker Michael Owen has revealed that two other Premier League sides were interested in signing him in the summer.
The 32-year-old joined the Potters on a one-year contract as a free agent last week after being released by Manchester United at the end of last season.
Owen is set to make his debut for Stoke against Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday and believes that he made the "right decision" in joining Tony Pulis' side.
    Ticked the boxes

"There were a couple of Premier League teams that showed interest, but this is a team on the up, I know the manager and a few of the players and it meant I didn't have to move my family as well," he said on Thursday.
"There were loads of things that ticked the boxes and I'm sure I've made the right decision.

"I want to perform and I want to finish my career on a real high. I'm still only 32 and I still feel as if I have a lot left in me.
"I've always scored goals no matter what team I have been in, so as long as I can stay fit and healthy, then I'm sure I can do that here at Stoke."
Stoke are currently 12th in the Premier League table with three points from as many matches.

Bilel Mohsni opts not to extend trial with Ipswich Town
    Last Updated: September 13, 2012 8:03pm

Bilel Mohsni: Has returned to Paris after turning down extended Town trial

Bilel Mohsni's trial with Ipswich has ended after the Frenchman opted not to extend his stay with the Championship club into this week.
The versatile Mohsni endured a chequered campaign with Southend last season, gaining just as many headlines for his off-field exploits as his talent on it.
The 25-year-old refused to return to Roots Hall over the summer, stressing his desire to leave the Essex outfit.

A number of clubs have taken a look at Mohsni, with Ipswich the latest having seen him train with them last week as he scored in their 6-0 reserve rout of Cardiff. But he turned his back on an invite to extend his trial at Portman Road and has instead returned to Paris.
Town manager Paul Jewell told the club's official website: "We had Bilel Mohsni here from Southend for a few days and we asked him to stay for this week because we wanted to have a longer look at him but he decided against it so that's over now."

Despite his contract with Southend running until the end of the season, United boss Paul Sturrock has already stated Mohsni will not be returning to the club.

    No City agreement for Jovetic
    Last Updated: September 13 2012, 18:39 BST

Fiorentina have denied that they have any agreement in place with Manchester City over the possible future transfer of forward Stevan Jovetic.

Jovetic: Linked with a summer move to Man City
The 22-year-old was linked with a summer move to the Premier League champions, with Juventus also reported to be keen on the Montenegro international.
However, Jovetic eventually stayed in Florence, and Viola sporting director Daniele Prade has rejected talks of his departure in January.

"Jovetic's buy-out clause? I want to close this issue once and for all," he told La Nazione. "What we will do, will be done in a transparent way.
"So when there will be news about Jovetic's contract, we will notify it in an official manner.
"A pre-arrangement with Manchester City? The Della Valle family (Fiorentina owners) has excellent relations with City but there is no preliminary contracts with anyone.

"Jo-Jo is our player and he will be at least until the end of the season."
Fiorentina technical director Eduardo Macia, though, admitted that Jovetic will be sold eventually.
"It will be very difficult to keep him at Fiorentina, he is a great player, who will eventually play for another club," he told Todomercadoweb.es.
"For us his situation is similar to that of Steven Gerrard for Liverpool. This summer we decided that Jovetic was not on the market and he understood it perfectly despite Juventus' offer."
