Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba insists he is happy at his new club Shanghai Shenhua

Didier Drogba: Says he has no regrets over leaving Chelsea for Shanghai

Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba insists he has no regrets over leaving Stamford Bridge and maintains he is at Shanghai Shenhua for the long-term.
Doubt has been cast over the future of Drogba and fellow former Blues forward Nicolas Anelka following reports of a power struggle at their new club.
Drogba, who ended his eight-year stint with the Blues in the summer to move to China, has been linked with a return to the Premier League, but insists he has no plans to leave Shanghai and wants to see out his two-and-a-half year deal.

"I'm here. I just arrived, like, two months ago," said the Ivory Coast international.
"I'm really happy here - I am. I am really happy here. So I have no reasons to leave. I don't want to leave. I want to stay here as long as I can, win some trophies with my team, and make our fans very happy.
"It's difficult at the moment but I know that there is hope, and I believe."

Asked how long he saw himself staying with the Chinese Super League club, he replied: "My contract. My contract is two-and-a-half years and maybe more. Maybe more and I hope more because I'm really happy here.
"I miss the Premier League because it's the best league in the world but, really, I don't regret my choice."

"I miss the Premier League because it's the best league in the world but, really, I don't regret my choice."
Didier Drogba Quotes of the week
Drogba arrived in China soon after Sergio Batista had replaced Jean Tigana at the helm, but has played down the significance of the recent upheaval.
"It's what happens at a normal team, at a normal club, like it happened at Chelsea, like it happened at Manchester City, like everywhere," said the 34-year-old, whose side lie ninth in the 16-team table with six games remaining.

"That's football, that's part of the game, you know. Like, the manager comes, if he doesn't get results, they change.
"It's the same thing. Football is universal. It's the same thing that happens everywhere in the world."
It had been suggested the player was not being paid, given the reported financial issues at the club, but Drogba insisted that was not the case.
"Of course they are [paying me]," he said.

Swansea goalkeeper Michel Vorm is close to finalising a new deal at the club

Michel Vorm: Optimistic of finalising a new deal at Swansea until 2016

Swansea goalkeeper Michel Vorm is keen to finalise a new contract at the club after being offered a fresh deal to keep him at the Liberty Stadium until summer 2016.
Dutchman Vorm has made a big impact with the Swans since arriving from FC Utrecht in August 2011, establishing himself as one of the Premier League's top keepers.

The 28-year-old admits it came as a surprise to be offered a new contract so soon after manager Michael Laudrup's arrival in the summer, having played just four games under his new boss so far.
But Vorm, currently contracted until 2014, is eager to commit to the club and is optimistic of a deal being reached in the near future.
He told De Telegraaf: "I was a little bit surprised Swansea City wanted to extend the contract already.
"I had a fantastic season, but when a new coach arrives you always have to wait to see what he thinks about you. However, he was enthusiastic.
    Future

"Swansea have stated that I am important for the future and the offer to extend until the summer of 2016 shows a lot of appreciation.
"When my agent, Wessel Weezenberg, returns from holiday the final details will be discussed. But we will definitely come together."
Vorm is embarking on his second season playing Premier League football and says the excitement of plying his trade in the English top-flight is yet to wear thin.
"Everyone knows how fantastic the Premier League is. But playing there is even more fantastic," he said.
"Every game is a battle and the passion of our opponents and fans is fantastic.
"The stadiums are fully packed and we are supported at away games with 2,000, 3,000 people who sing for the full 90 minutes. That still gives me goosebumps."

    Pool close on striker deal

Seasiders hoping to tie up three-month deal for striker

DJ Campbell: Close to rejoining Blackpool on loan from QPR

Sky Sports understands Blackpool are closing in on a deal to bring Queens Park Rangers striker DJ Campbell back to Bloomfield Road.
Campbell's future has been the subject of speculation for some time with the player deemed surplus to requirements at Loftus Road.
The 30-year-old was left out of QPR's 25-man Premier League squad and a number of clubs tried to sign him before the close of the transfer window last month.

Seasiders boss Ian Holloway is a huge admirer of Campbell with the striker enjoying three different spells at the club in recent seasons before his switch to Loftus Road last summer.
Talks have been ongoing between both clubs for several weeks with Blackpool keen to sign Campbell on a three-month loan deal to cover the busy festive period.
Campbell is keen to go out on loan in search of regular first-team football after a frustrating last 12 months at QPR.

    Last Updated: September 21, 2012 8:19pm

Cristian Tello: Has been linked with Liverpool among other Premier League clubs

Cristian Tello has dashed the hopes of several Premier League clubs after revealing he could soon sign a new contract at Barcelona.
The forward has been linked with Liverpool among several other English sides and his current deal is set to expire next summer.
But Tello has in the past made it clear he does not want to leave Barcelona and he has now confirmed his agent is in talks with the Spanish giants over a new contract.
The 21-year-old said in Marca: "The contract renewal is going well. Barca are in talks with my agent and I hope it's a done deal soon."
Tello is a product of Barcelona's successful Academy and he has developed into a first-team regular since making his debut in November 2011.
