A year after the Spanish Association of Interactive Television (AEDETI) reached consensus on the television standard hybrid - HbbTV system-the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism has published on its website a new document that reflects the consensus of industry on technical conditions for connected TV.
The document, published at www.televisiondigital.es has been approved by major multinational consumer electronics, television, service developers and providers of encryption technology.
A total of 54 companies participated in the preparation of the report and according to José Luis Vázquez, AEDETI’president, the agreement is one of the most important and forms an essential step for the development of interactive television in Spain because "it encourages investment by both broadcasters and manufacturers to develop business models based on interactivity."
After reaching consensus on the technical specifications, the audiovisual industry, supported by AEDETI, undertake further proceedings for the election of certification bodies and certification of compatible models.
