Re: For all CACHE-EX Mode 3 Users (must read!)

Why do you use so much exclamation marks (!) ?

The explanation is correct. Oscam will accept a CW once, not twice.
So if you got two remote peers, each sending the exact same cache-stream, 50% of the combined streams is "duplicate" .

Therefore, the amount CW "got" (/ accepted) will be 50%, compared to the amount of CW's that oscam will actually receive.

HITS explains the number of actual decodes on your server, where the CW came from cache.

CW Diff you can ignore. (it shouldnt be much). Basically these are incoming CW's that already exists in your local cache, but with different content as the existing ones.

Thumbs up Re: For all CACHE-EX Mode 3 Users (must read!)

I knew: one dw for one sid from the same CAID! In the same time not coexist 2 DW for the same CAID, for the same sid!
But if from a peer have HIT=0 forever
Is a good one or not? If i have zero HIT's from them after 3-4 days? or 1 Hit /day are good or not?
If i have one cache exchange who send me a lot of dw only one i told!
Using write statistic we can see wich kind of cw send and for wich CAID's!
So if i point a channel who are in his list normallly i need to have a HIT time to time when i recive this caid, meanhwille the local card send me the same caid and the same sid if oscam can't found it onto cache!

    so if i point :
09xx:abcd sid : oscam search cache for this abcd if found it use-it, if not claim for tle local card! This one generated from local card was put into cache and replace old one (if exist) or put it like new dw.
This stay on cache above 10 s if no one request it or are replaced if someone send from his cache a new one or the local card generate a new one!

Well.. How can i tell ?

If you have users watching channels for CAID/ONID that is not in that particular stream, you won't get hits.
I leave the judgement to you weither thats good or not..

    You can use -d512, and a tail/grep in the log: tail -F /var/log/oscam.log | grep "got" | grep <CE-READER/USERNAME>
to see what CW's are flowing in..

Re: For all CACHE-EX Mode 3 Users (must read!)

Iv made this test with one user.
So if noone else exist but only his cache, according with sid's , accordind with cw recived, time to time we neeed to have a HIT!
    Really or not?
And i use for exchange only one caid from those peers (09cd ) so ...

    "according with SID's?" ?

You really must give some more useful info.

Post a full oscam.user / oscam.server / oscam.conf (hide sensitive data please) too see if you got that all correct.

Cache-EX works fine. I have a constant 80-99% hitrate here.

Also try to complete your posts before actually posting them. I see your messages changing all the time, not really easy to follow.

Dont use write-statistics @ runtime, since it will cause your CPU to high, and hits will drop massively.

Re: For all CACHE-EX Mode 3 Users (must read!)

i'll try to give an easy (very simplified) explanation, szent:

let's assume SlyItalia only has 2 channels :

    - Primafila (everybody wants to watch this)
    - Alice (nobody wants to watch this)

Now, you have two cache exchange peers, but only one of them has both channels :

    - Teddy (has only Primafila, but a ping of 20ms to you)
    - Billy (has Primafila and Alice, but a ping of 50ms to you)

You will receive, in theory, Primafila AND Alice from Billy ... but because Teddy has a faster ping to you, and is sending you Primafila anyway, you already HAVE Primafila in your cache, the moment that Billy sends it to you ! So, Primafila (from Billy) will be ignored, because you already have it, and only Alice will be taken into consideration for the statistic "got" in the CacheEx tab.

This means that every couple of seconds, Teddy and Billy will only rise one cache in "got" (Teddy giving you Primafila, and Billy giving you Alice).

And now we look at your peers :

Everybody is watching Primafila ... and as we know, your server is keeping the Primafila from Teddy, and ignoring the Primafila from Billy, so Teddy keeps getting a "hit" every couple of seconds, and Billy isn't.

And here is now the (your) problem ... NOBODY is watching Alice, so Billy is never getting any "hit" in his stats :)

Now ... whether that makes Billy a bad peer for you or not, is up to you to decide ... but the truth is, that Billy is not doing anything wrong (in fact, despite his ping, in theory, he is the better peer, as he is submitting Primafila AND Alice to you, not just Primafila, as Teddy is).

This explanation is VERY simplified, many details (like hops, cache node awareness etc) are missing ... in fact, when you go deep into the whole matter, if Billy and Teddy exchange between each other, then you wouldn't even receiving the Primafila cache entries at all from one of the cache exchange peers (not even ignored) etc, so this explanation is more of a "theoretical example" to help you understand how to evaluate/understand the statistics shown in cache exchange ...

It is, for good understanding of what is happening to your server, absolutely important to learn how to grep some basic information out of your current log, via command line (see the last paragraph on CapNCooks reply ... that is exactly what I mean). the Cache Ex tab of Oscam is, as has been pointed out many times, very rudimentary ... work on it has begun, but it may take a while before we see any results I guess :S

Re: For all CACHE-EX Mode 3 Users (must read!)

Iv made the test on Gamberro rosso HD because i recive this channel from this cache!
I have this channel on my local too. I dont give a f*** on prima filla!
I use those statistic only for prove that i can't HIT no dw from them.
Yes his server send me DW but i can use it i use only from my card!

Thank's a lot m404 for the explanations, but how can you explain this?
    One peer for cahe!
    One local card!
I get dw only from my local card! Ping from my per are under 25ms but i don't have one valid HIT from them!
How can i get ride from cw diff? Or how can i make them less?
