VIVA Switzerland to return

US media company Viacom will offer a separate version of its music and entertainment channel VIVA for viewers in Switzerland again from 1 October 2012.

VIVA CH will screen German and international formats such as "180°", "GameOne", "VIVApedia" and "Futurama". Original productions for the Swiss audience are also planned, for example "VIVA Schweiz Top 20".

The local music taste will also play an important role: The share of Swiss artists will amount to up to 20%. The free-to-air channel will be financed through advertising with advertising slots to be sold by agency Goldbach Media.

Viacom provided a localised Swiss VIVA version until 15 May 2011 when it was replaced by Comedy Central Switzerland. Since then, the German VIVA channel has been offered on Swiss cable networks.
