US production firm The Gurin Company and Japanese broadcaster Fuji TV are to jointly develop unscripted and game show formats for the international TV market.

The first two projects under the creative venture are Objects of Desire, a hybrid dating game/elaborate Japanese game show, and League of Extraordinary Teams, a studio game in which teams from across a country compete in outrageous challenges in cities across the US for a national championship title.

The goal of the deal is to combine “the shiny floor studio ethos with high production values to create series that are as fun to watch as they are to play,” Gurin president and CEO Phil Gurin said in a statement.

Gurin’s productions include Shark Tank, The Singing Bee and Oh Sit! and Fuji TV’s include Hole in the Wall, Total Blackout, G Wars and Showdown of the Unbeatables.
