Al Jazeera’s children’s channel JCC is to showcase in Cannes’ MIPCOM and MipJunior new in-house edutainment productions for Arab children and families, aiming to explore new collaboration opportunities with global industry players.
JCC is to launch content including Shams & Rami, Nan & Lili, Power Struggle, and The Flying Saucer. Earlier this year, it rolled out a new strategy for the coming years to become fully child-centric, while offering what it described as a “360 degree” media proposition.
“We [will] adopt an open-minded approach to content selection and constantly look for original entertainment content that inspires minds and touches lives. In doing so, we hope to open up new
horizons for children to learn about different cultures and to unlock their potential,” explained acting executive general manager Haya bint Khalifa Al Nassr.
Both FTA pan-Arab edutainment channel JCC and its pre-school sister channel Baraem TV provide content that currently reaches over 350 million households across the Arabian world as well as in many parts of Europe.
