Tournament field announced

First-round action set to get under way Saturday, Nov. 3

INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA Division II Field Hockey Committee released Monday the 2012 tournament field.
UMass-Lowell (18-3) and Shippensburg (17-2) will receive first-round byes in the six-team field. In the South Region, Indiana (Pa.) (14-5) will travel to West Chester for a first-round contest at 1 p.m. ET, Saturday, Nov. 3. The winner will meet Shippensburg in a semifinal matchup. Merrimack (16-3) will host Bentley (11-7) in the North Region first-round contest at 6:30 p.m. ET, Saturday, Nov. 3. The winner will advance to play UMass-Lowell.
Semifinals will be played Friday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. ET, with the championship final being held Sunday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. ET. All games will be played at the Cushing Athletic Complex in Lowell, Mass.
