Advertising investment in Spain’s TV drops

TV advertisement spending in Spain has dropped by 18.3% in the nine first months of this year compared with the same period of the previous year. In regional television, the fall comes to 36.3%.
In its latest report, InfoAdex notes that Tele 5 Group remains a leader in turnover in the first nine months of 2012, with a market share of 45.4%, although the amount of €607.2m represents a decrease of 14.6% compared with the same period in 2011.
Meanwhile, Antena 3 TV is in second position, with a decrease of 9.7% in the period under review, reaching a figure of €448m of advertising investment and a market share of 33.5%.
LaSexta Group has a drop in turnover of 39.5%t, remaining at a figure of €115m for January-September 2012, which puts its share at 8.6%.
Pay-TV channels also showed negative signs, with a drop in turnover of 15.9% on the previous year, from €43.1m to €36.2m, representing a 2.7% share of the market.
