TV consumption hits new record in Spain

October has seen a new TV-watching record set in Spain as each viewer spent an average of 251 minutes watching television during the month.
According to a report by Barlovento Comunicación, with data from Kandar Media, Telecinco has positioned itself as leader for the eighth consecutive month (14.9%).
The largest increase in the share is in the TV brand which reached 1.2%, while the least increase was TVE2 with 2.2%.
The big three - Telecinco, Antena 3 and La1 – all saw improved results with a combined 39.5% of the total.
Mediaset Spain as a whole reached 28.8%, Antena 3, with the integration of the Sixth, 26.9%, CRTVE 17.6%, Vocento 4.5% and Publishing Unit 3.6%.
DTT consumption was at 81.7%, the same as in September, cable remained at 14.1% and satellite was lowest at 4.1%.
Television news channel La1 is again the most watched for the 62nd consecutive month.
The most watched programme of the month was the Spain v France World Cup qualifier match on La 1 TVE which attracted 8.982 million viewers with a 44.1% share.
The new Telecinco talent show Voice has exploded onto screens, taking fourth place with a 35.2% share and 6.03 million viewers.
