Banijay partners up for celebrity news channel on Canalsat

French production and distribution group Banijay is breaking through into the TV business as it co-creates a new all-day celebrity news pay-TV channel launched on Canalsat.

Non-Stop People, created with Mediatic System, sees a team of 30 celebrity and entertainment journalists reporting from cities worldwide including Paris, Los Angeles, New York and London about stars and show-biz.

The TV broadcast will be extended to a number of digital platforms including a website, mobile and tablet apps.

"Non-Stop People takes the model of CNN and applies it to 100% entertainment and celebrity content" says Hugues Dangy, founder and President of Mediatic System.

Banijay is already working on an international roll-out for the channel and exploring the many ways it can further exploit this new pool of resources.
