Indian Film Commission is 'a work in progress'

A national film commission for India remains a likelihood, according to India's new Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Manish Tewari.
"It is a work in progress," he told Film Business Asia. "The important thing is that it has been accepted conceptually."
Tewari wouldn't be drawn on a timetable for implementation. "We need to continue to consult with all the stakeholders and give it the gravitas that it requires," he said.
A national film commission would help Indian filmmakers cut through the red tape that is currently required when creating productions, including gaining shooting permits.
