December 2012 will see the start of Europe's first international online film festival, Streams.
The project is backed by video-on-demand (VOD) platforms from seven countries which founded the network of European VOD providers - EuroVOD - in 2010.
Through Streams, the partners want to expand their collaboration and support the Internet as a distribution platform. A total of 14 movies, which have previously not been released outside their production country, will be submitted to the festival.
From 1-31 December, all 14 films will be accessible on the festival website in the original language version with subtitles in English, German, French and Spanish. A single movie costs €3.99, with the whole festival package being offered for €19.90.
