Chile's TV environment now has a new free-to-air channel called ITV Patagonia.
The new channel transmits for the Punta Arenas commune in the Magallanes region; it is also available on cable and transmits in digital in HDTV format.
According to the Next TV Latam, ITV Patagonia won a national bid for transmissions tests in free-to-air in the region for which the company invested $200,000 in equipment. The National Telecommunications and Transport Secretariat lent the broadcaster transmission equipment for the HDTV signals.
ITV Patagonia has become the fourth national channel transmitting free-to-air. The channel's programming comprises news, religious programmes, sports, series and telenovelas.
