Sky is sending out a new type of ECM. This new type is activated for each client, at the moment an original box gets its new firmware.
This adds the 'receiverid' to your box, and is beeing sent back to Sky. This receiverid is tied to every ecm they send to your card, so HD wont open on other boxes including oscam and any other cs software.
Sky also calls people, and send them invitations to upgrade to newer firmware currently.

The only way currently known to get these ecm's back to normal, is to manually re-activate the card thru sky's website, with a valid serial + version number of a box, which isn't able to use the newer firmware.
The thomson boxes with hardware-version 4E3004xxxxxxxxxx are known to do just that.

You can also re-activate the card through the customer services menu even on the Thomson 4E3004xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and if you choose force an entitlement update by changing the pin (also using the customer services menu). It's a lot easier this way.

Correct, its just that i dont like to stick any card in any original box currently.

I had to put my card back in my box when moving home (so the engineer could verify the channels all worked) and since then I haven't got HD channels working through OSCam. It does get EMMs but entitlements don't seem to update. I guess this is the end for now. Good job I'm out of contract.

I'm not buying another Sky box just for HD channels, especially as no sellers seem to state model numbers. I'd rather cancel.

As long you dont tie your card to any box.. it keeps working... including updates.

Well that's odd, my HD channels are working again. I guess my card's brief foray into its box didn't do any harm after all. It may only be a matter of time but for now, at least, it is all working. Hopefully I won't have to put the card in the box again! :)
