dreambox dm500s

any help appreciated as im totally new to this scene , i bought a dreambox with paid subscription my problem is i get all the paid channels yet i cant seem to get normal uk channels 1-5 working just a black screen , astra 28 e ive never gone into any settings etc so idiot proof help would help if possible !!!

Is it an dm500 hd or normal sd?
Maybe here is the problem.
A normal sd receiver cannot handle HD channels because of the mpg4 decription.
SD receiver can only handle mpg2 decription.
Hd receivers can handle both.
