Arte experiments with premium VOD offer ahead of TV run

Arte will offer its first documentary available in premium VOD on 5 June, a month ahead of the programme's first TV broadcast.

Starting with this documentary, which is on the work of British director Peter Brook, this test is said to be a first in France and Europe, according to the French-German cultural channel.

Entitled Peter Brook – The Tightrope, Simon Brook's 83-minute film, which was officially selected at the 2012 Venice Film Festival, will be available to download and rent for €4.99 or purchase for €9.99.

It will also be accessible through VOD offers on iTunes and the IPTV boxes Free, SFR and Numericable.

The documentary will be broadcast on Arte on 3 July at 10.30pm.
