Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign forward Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Various reports claim that the Blues have hijacked the deal that Arsenal were hoping to complete, and while it isn't done, an agreement is in place.

Mudryk will travel to London to undergo a medical and sign a seven-year contract at the club, according to The Athletic.

The transfer fee is believed to be €70m up front with an additional €30m in add-ons for the Ukrainian international, who is set to become Chelsea's fifth recruit of the January window.

    CHELSEA TO HIJACK MUDRYK DEAL?
A potentially huge transfer - and one that will be a massive blow to current Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Chelsea are pushing to reach a verbal agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk for Mykhailo Mudryk, according to Fabrizio Romano, with the deal worth €100m.

The Gunners remain keen but Chelsea want to bring in improvements during the January window.

    UNITED SEAL WEGHORST LOAN
Manchester United have signed Netherlands striker Wout Weghorst on loan from Burnley.

The 30-year-old joins Erik ten Hag’s side until the end of the season after United secured his exit from a temporary spell with Besiktas.

“I feel privileged to be joining Manchester United,” said Weghorst after his loan switch was confirmed late on Friday night. “I’ve played against the club in the past and it’s a fantastic feeling to now have the chance to pull on the famous red shirt.

    SPURS FAVOURITES FOR TROSSARD
Could Leandro Trossard be on the move this month following Roberto De Zerbi's earlier comments?

Sky Bet make Tottenham the 6/4 favourites, and there is a sizeable gap between Spurs and the rest of the competition.

    Tottenham - 6/4
    Chelsea - 12/1
    Newcastle - 14/1
    Arsenal - 20/1
    Manchester United - 33/1

    TROSSARD WON'T PLAY FOR BRIGHTON
“Leandro (Trossard) isn’t in the list of players for tomorrow,” Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed ahead of Liverpool visiting the Amex on Saturday.

“The last training session before the Middlesbrough game when he understood he didn’t play, he left the session without saying anything to me. And it’s not good.

“The Monday after, I spoke with him and I explained this attitude, this behaviour, I don’t like.

“He knows very well that if he wants to play with Brighton with me, he has to work hard, he has to run, he has to be in the right way because we are not a big team such as Real Madrid or Barcelona, we are Brighton and we need players who work like the others who stay in Brighton.

“I don’t know what is the problem. I want to be clear, I am open with him to take a step back and listen to him but he has to understand with me, I want only players who work hard and play for the team 100 per cent.”

ALL QUIET ON THE WEST HAM FRONT
Manager David Moyes admits he doesn't expect much in the way of transfer movement ahead of the Wolves clash on Saturday.

The Scottish boss remains tight-lipped about a possible Molineux transfer for defender Craig Dawson, too: "We've had an offer from Wolves, we’ve not accepted it and that’s as much as I can tell you.”

Shame. They could have given him a lift up to Birmingham for the medical.

    LIVERPOOL ARRIVALS UNLIKELY
Will Liverpool bring anyone in over January as they look to resurrect their season?

"I don't think so," says Jurgen Klopp. "My job is to use the boys we have. That's it. You cannot solve all problems in a transfer window."

    HOWE PONDERS STRIKE SET-UP
Even without talk of a Memphis Depay loan move, Eddie Howe is blessed with strike options now that Alexander Isak is back in the picture following injury.

He and Callum Wilson are "two outstanding players", said the former Bournemouth boss in his press conference ahead of Sunday's Fulham clash, when asked about potentially fielding them both together.

"I have to evaluate every game and situation; you might want two attackers on the pitch but you don't want to damage the balance of the team."
