Vu Ultimo BH2.02 Rev E - Running Dreambox Softcam Files

Hi,

I wonder if you can please help this newbie.

What are the step-by-step procedures via FTP for using the Dreambox Softcam keyfiles (inc. ones for other receivers) on a Vu Ultimo receiver running Black Hole 2.02 Rev E and CCAM 2.30?

Hi

exactly the same procedure that on dreambox. You connect the Vu by FTP, and put the keys files and usr/keys. Give them read right by chmod 644 and reboot the cccam or the Vu...then you should see the light on some channels.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, as a newbie, I was not aware of the Dreambox procedure.

Once the Dream Keys file has been uncompressed, the folders var and scce are shown on the PC. Should both these folders be copied to the Vu Ultimo via FTP in usr/keys folder? Also, how will these keys autoupdate or do you need to manually copy them in the future?

When taking a backup copy of the files from the Vu Ultimo by transferring them to the PC (Win XP), do all the file attributes (eg. chmod 644) move as well or will they need reassigning if they are copied back to the Vu Ultimo via FTP? Or is it simply easier just to rename the existing files as a backup?
