Portuguese channel TV Record Europa has selected Grass Valley’s GV Stratus solution for live and news production.
The channel will upgrade its system to a file-based solution through Grass Valley’s local partner in southern Europe, Telefónica’s TSA.
GV Stratus is a full set of production workflow tools, with end-to-end support, including ingest, editing, content aggregation, login and transfer. According to Grass Valley, its simplicity makes the solution perfect for news editing and live broadcasting.
“The move to a file-based production system will allow us to increase cost efficiencies which is good news for a station that is on air at all times throughout the world”, explained Leandro Maquinez, head of operations at TV Record Europa.
“We chose Grass Valley and TSA to help us with this transition because of their efforts in understanding our needs together with their expertise in integrating turnkey solutions into news studios”.
TV Record is one of Brazil’s largest networks, while TV Record Europa targets Brazilians living abroad and broadcasts from Lisbon for Europe, Africa and Asia.
“Broadcasters are continuing to migrate their existing tape-based systems to file-based infrastructures because they are so much less expensive to operate,” said Said Bacho, senior vice president at Grass Valley.
