Media and technology group Technicolor is looking for a partner to develop its Connected Home activity, according to CEO Frédéric Rose, speaking to Les Echos.
"I'm looking to ink a partnership and set up a joint venture as we don't have the financial capacity to take a competitor over. Talks are still ongoing," he said.
Formerly called Digital Distribution, the Connected Home business creates and provides set-top boxes and Internet gateways, a market where the group claims worldwide leadership.
Technicolor doesn't plan to sell this business, which represents 30 % of its patents, and aims to retain control of its technology.
