I heard that when you update to 2.44 you can't return back to an old version

If you upgrade with 2.44 MDR you haven't problem. Obviously if you have the fcis 7000 E+
If you have the fcis 7000 you must upgrade only software with 2.44 MV firmware.

It's the old series of rirmware.
Upgrade only software.

one more question, what is the signification of MDR

I'm using currently the 2.44_MT_NL_81 version, i didn't tried to go back to a previous version but i have problem with T*P*S on Astra and Hotbird.
I think that keys have changed and autoupdate is very slow on the receiver.
I also lost the Mul*ti*vision.
