Trouble playing some HD TS Files from say MTV Dance, Satisfaction, etc..

Has anyone had any luck playing TS files recoreded from Receiver PVR? I can play some programs like 4FUNTV, but have no picture/audio trying say MTV Dance or some of the XX channels.

I have tried diff codecs, VLC Player, Zoom Player, GOM Player etc..

Any help or explanation on why it shouldn't work appreciated very much guys ;)

Hi

would be simple to answer if you gave us more details : which PVR are you using, and for the black-screen recording, tell us how do you record them : encrypted or descrambled and if descrambled with what ? softcam, emu, CAM module. Looks like it is an encryption problem but without any details it is hard to find where the trouble is

Well here is the info. I am using ALI based receiver (Elcomax Elux X1), it has chipset ALHD06AL or AL3606HD. It records into a USB folder it names ALIDVRS2.
Descrambling takes place via CCCAM over IP. All files play perfectly without network connection once recorded on USB stick. Its just that I can't get them to play on PC (Win7). Have tried a really long list of players and codecs. Just not sure the right ones.

Using "MediaInfo" Utility, it is telling me the files are AVC type, which is built into VLC Player, however, they just don't show picture/audio, but I do see the timeline moving.

2 options : either your receiver records in a non standard TS format and that's why you can't read it on PC with VLC, either sky it has implemted new crypting process to forbid exporting of recording. The files you try to read comes from MTV but did you try with other sky it channels ? for instance a sky cinema or sky sport (or calcio if you get it).

Hello Zed,

Receiver does not record non-standard, since I am able to play FTA channels without issue. So maybe encryption of TS file is taking place?? So strange since its decoding on screen at that stage no?

I will try to record other encrypted channels for further experiment/feedback buddy.
