SingTel has launched the first prepaid mobile plan in Singapore that enables customers to access Facebook.

Johan Buse, SingTel's Vice President of Consumer Marketing, said: “Many of our customers are avid Facebook users who frequently access the site via their smartphones and tablets. The plan we launched today enables our prepaid customers to get their Facebook fix without worrying about incurring additional data charges.

“Customers can also be assured of the best possible Facebook experience on the move with SingTel’s award-winning 3G and 4G networks, which offer the fastest mobile speeds in Singapore."

MJ Choi, Facebook’s Head of SEA, said: “Facebook's mission is to give people the power to share and make the world more open and connected. We're delighted that with this plan, SingTel prepaid subscribers can enjoy virtually unlimited access to Facebook at a very affordable price.”

The plan costs $0.50 for one day, $3.00 for seven days or $6.00 for 30 days. It is compatible with iOS, Android, Windows and Blackberry smartphones and tablets, as well as devices that support the Facebook Java-based app.

The Facebook plan is the latest addition to SingTel’s suite of prepaid social plans. In August 2013, it launched Whatsapp and Opera Mini Surf and Mail plans, which enables customers to send unlimited instant messages and surf the web as much as they wish from 50 cents per day.
