Can someone please explain the meaning of transponder updates and how are they uploaded to the STB. I have a HUMAX 5400Z Plus with the latest patch and settings. Thanks in advance.

I have a funny things on my reciver
like sexview appers as Irdeto
and Tps is not working any more even thought i changed the bin key severel time.

Setting 5400 menu in card+emu+s ed install this emu for Tpz ------> http://www.satsupreme.com/attachment...1&d=1163138293
Now sex and D+ Game Over but Tpz is ok! Tested.

but why the new files became HDF they used to be BIN. any new changes or do i need to change my firmwire?

Hi lowee97 ... just to clarify for you

.bin files usually contain humax keys
.hdf files usually contain humax firmware

i say usually because .bin is not exclusive to humax and because
hdf is not specific to firmware , humax settings can be in hdf format too

hdf files never have been in .bin format , its just a different format
for a different purpose

getting the two mixed up could prove a disaster if u tried to upload a bin
file as firmware u probabily would kill your humax.

if you are not clearing some channels its always a good idea to flash your
firmware to the latest version , but always use hdf files for this not bin.

the only time you should be using .bin files is when you only want to update the keys inside the humax firmware (emu mode) .

Thank You Nucleus for this explanation, You did help me beter understanding the issue, however can you tell me where to find the latest trusted firmware and keys.

I see in the upload area some humax bin keys that says sexview OK tested but when i download it to my humax it does not work, and that was my first question chairasat. so can you help on this matter also.

Hello Again lowee97.

you will find the latest firmware and latest keys in the upload section
of most decent sat sites , including this one.
i reccomend using HDFSmart to upload firmware since it will tell you
if the firmware is corrupt or not , you cant go wrong

remember that when flashing firmware its only dangerous if you flash
the bootloader , if you only flash the actual firmware and dont touch
the bootloader its not possible to harm the humax

HDF files can contain any number of combinations - the size in bytes
is a good indication of what the HDF contains - use HDFSmart to find out
the rest

HDF smaller than 5 k = this is a key.bin file dont use as firmware
(Not safe to flash)


HDF Around 100-200 k = probabily a TPS autoroll Plugin (no bootloader)
(Safe to flash)

HDF Around 1 Meg = Full Firmware Flash (usually includes Bootloader)
(prob safe to flash check HDFSmart first)

am using HOT7.6b and it works fine on SexView and others (when keys
are available)

Main reasons why it might no work for you follow :

1. you might be using the wrong software to upload key.bin`s to humax
there are various versions of "DSR 9500 EMU Ed" around if you use one
of the latest key.bin you should be using the latest version of
the uplader eg : Version 56 , therefore search for
"DSR_9500_EMU_Ed_56" and always use that to upload key.bin`s

2. you might have wrong PMCT / Firmware to cope with latest key.bin
especially the catone plugin for humax firmware as that handles all
CW.`s (control/crypted/constant words) , its these that descramble
the sexview channels and i believe the latest is catone is 2.9
(my firmware HOT7.6b already had the catone plugin and am still
using it , i havent updated to latest firmware because sexview works
anyway, but u still need a catone plugin in your firmware even if old)
the catone plugin can be controlled from humax menu if its installed
by going to menu > toh > parser

3. there is a problem loading any file on winxp that has a total path
greater than 255 characters , if u load a key.bin and get nothing
showup in the DSR 9500 software then thats the problem , rename
the file or move to a folder in c: (make a tmp folder) and try again.

4 the very first time you launch DSR_9500_EMU its set to samsung ,
IT DOES NOT DEFAULT TO HUMAX - you have to click the question
mark in the pulldown meu of DSR_9500 Software and select HUMAX DEF
this only has to be done once , after that it will remember.
reason for this is the software is for dual use , works on samsung
receivers too.

5. Sexview keys only ever last for a few days , if you are trying to view
using keys that are more than a day or two old , then that could be
a problem too , make sure that when you test there are other people
that are getting those channels using a humax and same key.bin

these are by no means the only reasons why it might not work for you
but are the main ones .

Thank you again for such a deep inside out breif, it did inlight me a lot about humax and if we continue in this direction i think i'm gonna become a humax expert in no time.

However the always problem i face is that every one give information on what and where to find things but not which one specificly to take, for instant if i go to the upload center i find lots of files (key side) for humax but the only file working these days is the .HDF files with me which was not the case before, and as i told you on the provider side is wrong on my humax yet i don't know which is the proper PMCT file for my humax (and you didn't gave me a direct link). beside last time you told me that the sexview and D+ is gameover and yet i found a post on the upload that says sexview key for humax 100% work by you or chairsat.

I hope you understand and forgive my ignorence in these matter and that you have the pationat to continue on inlighting me in this matter because it is hard to find an english expert in this forum (french is dominant).
