Around 115,000 set-top boxes supplied by Motive Television were deployed to Digiturk satellite TV subscribers in Turkey in 2013, with a similar amount expected to be seeded in 2104, the companies have announced.

Motive had conservatively estimated that over the coming few years “at least” 100,000 Digiturk subscribers would receive the set-top boxes including Motive technology.

Leonard M Fertig, CEO, Motive, said the figures “indicate that this prior estimate will be exceeded and this is evidence of success and rapid acceptance of the product. Motive continues to work with Digiturk to support and further develop its services.”

Motive receives licence fees royalties based upon the number of set-top boxes manufactured that are enabled with Motive’s technology based on shipments for the past six months.

Digiturk has around 2.5 million subscribers to its direct-to-home (DTH) service.
