flashing with usb to serial cable ?!

hi everyone i have a starsat receiver but i have no serial port (rs232) in my pc only usb ports i wanted to know if i buy a converter like this http://sewelldirect.com/usbtoserial.asp
will i be able to use to flash my receiver ?
anyone tried something like That ?

and it is working prefect but u have to download the driver 4 the converter it comes with CD..........
