Showtime's over-the-top (OTT) standalone streaming video service is coming to Roku and PlayStation Vue when it launches in July.
The company's announcement of additional platforms negates Apple TVs presumed exclusivity window — last week when CBS confirmed the service, it was the only platform partner listed.
The OTT, closely resembles the HBO Now model; it offers access to all Showtime premium cable network shows, including original programming, sports and movies. It's priced a little below HBO's $15 per month though, at $10.99 per month.
In addition to on-demand streaming, Showtime's app will include both the East and West coast feeds of the linear channel.
With the ecosystem enhancements, the service reaches 35 million domestic US consumers — a far cry from the 115 million households that the cable channel reaches, but enough to give the launch wings.
