The Supervisory Board at TVP have chosen Janusz Daszczynski as the Polish public broadcaster’s new president.

His appointment, along with that of two members of the board – Wieslaw Rola and Marian Zalewski – now have to be confirmed by the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) at its next meeting, up until when the current management board will continue with its duties.

Daszczynski is a manager and journalist and has held a number of positions at TVP, including a member of the first two management teams at the station.

He is currently the deputy commissioner general at EXPO 15 in Milan.
