DirecTV nets FIBA programming across LATAM

With a focus on the Rio Olympics' qualifying rounds and Eurobasket 2015, DirecTV is offering a sporting line-up with plenty of basketball action across Latin America during September.
The FIBA Americas Championship qualifying tournament for next summer's Olympics in Rio kicked off last week in Mexico. Two groups - Uruguay, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Panama, against Argentina, Venezuela, Cuba, Canada and Puerto Rico - will fight for two places in the Olympics. Brazil, as host country, and the US, gold medal winner in London 2012, have already qualified.
The Americas Championship will be have a winner and two qualifying teams by the end of this week, and DirecTV Sports will broadcast every game through its pan-American pay-TV feed.
At the same time, Eurobasket 2015 is been held in Germany, Croatia, Latvia and France, and DirecTV is airing some of the first-round matches, followed by the quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final on 20 September.
