Uruguay’s Nuevo Siglo uses 24i Media, Conax for TV everywhere

Uruguayan cable operator Nuevo Siglo has tapped TV app software developer 24i Media and Conax to enable its NS Now TV everywhere service.


24i’s Smart Operator platform will be used to enable streaming content to connected televisions. The operator already provides Web-delivered content on hybrid set-top-boxes, tablets and mobile devices.

The pay-TV content for the service will be protected by the Conax Contego security backend. Conax will implement a range of content protection and DRM solutions for Nuevo Siglo’s pay-TV operations, enabling live and on demand content consumption across hybrid set-top-boxes and multiscreen devices.

24i Media’s Smart Operator platform enables operators to add a range of features for both live TV and video-on-demand, including pause and restart TV, personalised user profiles, content recommendations, cloud PVR and social TV.
