GN-2500HD/NEW (Old an New Remote)

After a big big search I have found a location for some of the Firmware updates for this decoder.
Version available 1.41, 1.42 and 1.44
Versions available for Old Remote (Grey and Black):

These are the file names

I have upgraded from 1.41 to 1.42 and I am impressed on how much channel decryption has improved, there is far less channel freezing than with previous 1.3X and 1.40/41.
Also tested 1.44 and unfortunately it seem more jerky although not as bad as 1.40
I say unfortunately as once installed

The other updates as follows I belive are for the New Remote (Black) as my decoder (with the old remote) would not even start the upgrade.
Although these are flagged as "ANCIEN TÉLÉCOMMANDE" that is wrong at those did not work with the ancient (new) remote.
I have also been in doubt as I got the GN-2500HD/NEW Decoder where the remote supplied was the grey one where I would have thought to get the black remote instead.

Opposite to the links above these link should work for you if you have the correct 2500 model (not the one above):

There is also the Serial Firmware tool ( To Patch the box via serial cable RS232) instead of the USB method which I have used with no issues.
(I tried although I am not sure I was using the right cable as it did not work)

I have recalculated the link from a blocked Facebook link because of a security issue but with the link above you wont have any problems.
I have stored copies of these in case even this site will go down and post on my google account.

(Please do not bother downloading the IDM Tools on this page as these have nothing to do with Firmware) I believe it's a Google Chrome Browser Download Manager, probably even a scamware.

I have noticed on other forums that there should be also version 1.46 for the Geant GN2500 but I have tested these and they're all fake,broken and spywares.

Hope this helps others who have been hunting these firmwares for a while like me.

Quick update as I have been able to rollback from 1.44 to 1.42 with the Serial Cable and the utility mentioned above (via RS232)

I have also uploaded the same utility in english as the one above is in french

I understand that there is a specific method for doing this although was just by chance that I had the following in place when this happened even if I was not expecting it.

1. Power off your Decoder with from the switch at rear panel.

2. Have you serial cable connected between your Pc and the Decoder

3. Start the software and make sure the right COM Port number is selected (for most PC is COM without number unless you have more COM Serial Ports, then this may just be COM or COM 1,2 etc)

4. Select the firmware version you wish to Flash and then click on Start.

5. Now Power On your Decoder

6. You will notice that the utility will start to load it's selected software as the progression bar shows and the Decoder will also show on the front display unusual progressive numbering.

The all process took few minutes.
