PCCW Global enlists Solbox CDN technology

Korean content delivery network (CDN) specialist Solbox is providing cloud-based video delivery technology for PCCW Global's media business.


Solbox's CDN technology enables telecommunications operators such as PCCW Global to provide high-capacity content delivery services, and video delivery solutions for video services and over-the-top (OTT) providers.

"We believe the unique and innovative Solbox solutions can play an important role in our approach to wholesale and retail distribution of media services," said Phil Braden, senior vice president, Technology & Applications, PCCW Global.

PCCW Global - HKT's international operating division – now covers 140 countries, with bases in Hong Kong, China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, US , UK, Greece, France, Belgium, UAE and South Africa.
