Rovi signs Summit Broadband for Passport Guide HD

Rovi has announced its first customer for Passport Guide HD as Summit Broadband while also introducing i-Guide HD to its line of interactive programme guides.


Summit Broadband, a triple-play pay-TV provider will deliver advanced entertainment discovery, powered by Rovi's entertainment metadata. The addition of Passport Guide HD now provides Summit Broadband with expanded TV listings and a fresh design for DVR, search and advanced video-on-demand (VOD) capabilities.

The i-Guide HD solution provides a high-resolution, wide-screen design for a full HD experience, and supports applications to help service providers extend customer engagement, while offering the same easy-to-use navigation consumers are familiar with. It also features new HD Auto-Tune, which ensures viewers are watching their favourite shows in the highest possible resolution.

This is the latest US pay-TV win for the company. It recently extended its interactive programme guide licence agreement with Time Warner Cable, and signed a similar deal with Comcast.
