Spain's Egatel has been selected by technology institute INVAP to provide wideband high efficiency transmitters to expand Argentina's DTT network operated by Arsat.
In a project involving the two main Argentinean public technology companies, Egatel is to supply 17 TLWH7802 model liquid-cooled ISDBT TV transmitters for 14 broadcast sites. For centres with two transmitters, the installation includes a multi-transmitter integration system in the same rack.
According to Egatel, INVAP based its decision on Egatel's extensive record in manufacturing digital TV transmitters and experience developing high-efficiency equipment.
The optimisation of energy efficiency throughout the UHF band powered by Doherty technology, the compact and modular design, the power supplies redundancy or the possibility of channel changes without any modification in the amplifiers integrated in this transmitter model, significantly reduce the total cost in installations and extend the life of the transmitter.
