CE giant LG Electronics is partnering with Discovery Communications to create technology-focused content.
The programming, inspired by LG's OLED TV display technology, will be featured on Discovery Digital Networks and Science Channel and focus on sci-fi-level inventions, including a first-ever inside look at the making of LG OLED TV.
"LG innovations bring technologies of the future to consumers today, so it made perfect sense to team up with Discovery's top-notch digital team to raise awareness for these products that will truly make a difference in peoples' lives," said David VanderWaal, vice president of marketing, LG Electronics USA. "This new content series will feed viewers' voracious curiosity of new technologies and show them that the future of TV technology is available today with LG OLED TV."
"Discovery Communications is a leader in innovative and impactful digital solutions, led by premium digital video offerings across our Web-native and TV networks-aligned businesses, and we're thrilled to partner with LG Electronics to tell their story to our passionate fan base of influencers, tech enthusiasts and curiosity seekers," added Harold Morgenstern, senior vice president, digital ad sales, Discovery Communications.
At the heart of the new content is Discovery Digital Networks' popular Test Tube series In the Making, hosted by engineer Mike North. Forthcoming episodes of In the Making will follow North as he hits the road to discover genius backyard innovators that are creating technologies of the future, such as Mod Bot's industrial quality robot building blocks and LookSee's solid silver jewellery bracelet with customizable smart display.
