ErosNow passes 30 million registered users

The over-the-top (OTT) video service from Bollywood producer and distributor Eros International has gained over 30 million registered users worldwide – a jump of almost 58% in six months.


Eros Now had 19 million registered users of its video-on-demand (VOD) platform as of 31 March 2015; prior to that, 14 million users were registered on 31 December 2014.

The Indian company now plans to both increase its OTT user base and migrate users to a pay platform by offering tiered premium pricing. One service will be financed through advertising, one will be a pay-per-view VOD service, a third international premium subscription service will cost $7.99 per month or $79.99 a year. Finally, in India a two-tiered subscription service will be priced at INR50 or INR100 per month.

ErosNow also plans to launch up to six new original shows starring actors including Bipasha Basu, Chitrangda Singh, Radhika Apte, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar and Ayushmann Khurrana.
