Text-to-video specialist Wibbitz has just signed its first US publishers with USA TODAY Sports Digital Properties, Hearst and ViralNova signing on to give access to their content.
Across the three publishers, Wibbitz will power video on Web and mobile for more than 35 outlets, including Esquire, USA TODAY Fantasy Sports and SFGate. The announcement comes as Wibbitz expands its NYC team and points to additional growth on top of its already 70 international publisher partners.
Wibbitz has a text-to-video platform that creates broadcast-ready, branded videos for publishers to push via their multiscreen online video strategies, into pre-roll ad space. It hinges on automated technology that turns existing text-based articles into video summaries; it analyses the text for tone and content to help create a summarised script, which is then automatically matched with visual content and a narrative voiceover to complete the video creation process.
Earlier this year, it announced that it had raised $8 million in Series B funding to expand into the US market.
