The international video news network Motorsports is launching a digital platform in China, signalling its entrance into the Asian market.

The move follows the investment in the online video platform by 2015 FIA Formula E world champion NEXTEV Team China Racing.

"With the number of Internet users in China set to surpass the 700 million mark over the next year, gaining entrance into market with our partner NEXTEV TCR will allow the growing number of race fans in Asia the opportunity to enjoy our industry-leading motorsports content," said Charles Bradley, editor in chief, Motorsport.com.

"Although motorsport in China is relatively young in terms of its history, Shanghai has hosted a Formula 1 Grand Prix for a dozen years already. By building brand and content awareness in China, Motosport.com will further leverage its editorial assets with sister companies Motor1.com and Motorsport.tv to provide the most comprehensive coverage in the world."

Motorsport.com offers online motorsport news, digital images and video in 15 editions and 11 native languages.

Steven Lu, owner, Team China Racing, added: "We will make sure that the quality of Chinese content on motorsport.com - China will be to a high standard, and it is great honour to work with many talented motorsport journalists around the world."
