Zonzia Media has chosen Kaltura to power its video-on-demand (VOD) service.
The Kaltura platform will support monetisation, social and personalisation features; tools for improving user acquisition and retention; and multiscreen, multi-device support.
The tools will support server-side and native ad insertion technology for VOD and live content, in-app purchases, a range of payment options and discounts for introducing friends. Kaltura's DRM support will also provide full content protection.
By allowing each viewer in the household to set up an individual profile, Kaltura OTT TV will deliver each viewer a personalised experience under Zonzia.
"Launching our OTT TV service is the natural next step for our unique multifaceted digital strategy," said Johnathan Adair, COO at Zonzia Media. "When looking at the options of build versus buy, and the range of providers in the market, Kaltura was the clear choice due to its broad feature set, fast time to market, and deep expertise."
"New OTT services are being introduced to consumers at an increasingly rapid pace, and content owners, digital publishers, operators and media companies need to jump on the OTT bandwagon quickly, to ensure they are meeting the expectations of today's viewers who want live and on-demand content at any given moment, on every device," added Ron Yekutiel, chairman, co-founder and CEO at Kaltura. "Zonzia Media is a great example of a next generation media company, and we are delighted to be working together."
