Jazztel is to start offering Orange's pay-TV service to its subscribers during the first quarter of 2016.
The move marks the first integrated offer after Orange's acquisition of Jazztel, as a formal merger of commercial packages hasn't been announced yet. According to Jazztel's deputy CEO José Miguel García, speaking to news agency Europa Press, Jazztel intends to deliver a more complete, convergent service to its customers.
“This has been a priority since the beginning, as Orange TV is the most complete offer and a reference brand in the content market,” he said.. Both companies would be intensively working in this platform and others to conclude the full integration. “We expect it to be ready during the first months of the year,” he added.
Jean-Marc Vignolles, who had been head of Orange Spain since 2007 but has now been appointed as Orange's chief operating officer,, has also stated the company's strategy will be multi-brand in the beginning.
The merge between both telcos got the green light last May. The resultant player will be the second largest fixed-line broadband operator in Spain, with a particular focus on mobile offerings and accelerating the movement of its customers towards convergent offers.
