US-based Arabic-language satellite TV channel Alhurra has inked a major deal with Prime Entertainment Group for 208 episodes of its celebrity and entertainment series.

Alhurra, which broadcasts news and current affairs programming to audiences in the Middle East and North Africa, has been a Prime partner since 2012 after buying the 91x4' celebrity portraits series Stars. In this latest deal it has purchased 104 episodes of the 52x26' magazine Hollywood News Feed and 104 episodes of 605x6'30 series Zoom In. The deal covers 28 territories in North Africa and the Middle East and production will be delivered over the next two years until the end of 2017.

Shows produced in Hollywood will be aired in Arabic only two days after completion of the original English version. The Arabic audio version will be created simultaneously in Jordan, while video will be ingested in Alhurra’s US facilities.

"We’re very proud to work with Alhurra we like the channel very much, commented Prime Entertainment Group managing director David Freydt. “Its programming is all about making a positive impact, and we’re glad to be part of it thanks to our entertainment programmes. Beyond the quality of our content, I think that the technical capacities of our team to deliver weekly programmes on time and in all languages really decided them to work with us.”
