TV everywhere and video-on-demand (VOD) platform Fox Play is to launch the entire third season of Cumbia Ninja ahead of its premiere on linear pay-TV.
In the first such move from Fox, the latest season of one of Latin America's most watched series will be available for subscribers on-demand on 26 October. The pay-TV linear network will then premiere two episodes per week.
Cumbia Ninja will be available on mobile and connected devices, including smartphones, tablets and interactive set-top boxes.
Produced by Fox Telecolombia, and filmed in Colombia and Honduras, the series' third season stars a Latin American cast, including new faces such as Argentina's Macarena Achaga and Mauro Mauad, Peruvian actor Salvador del Solar and Colombia's Laura Londoño. Mexico's Miguel Rodarte, Víctor Jiménez and Rubén Zamora and Argentinean actress Brenda Asnicar return as the main characters.
The VOD premiere is also gaining social media attention on Twitter and Facebook, where Cumbia Ninja's fan page has over 1.5 million likes.
Cumbia Ninja has previously been selected by Fox to try out new TV initiatives, such as the launch of the second-screen app Sync two years ago.
