End-to-end video entertainment provider Netgem has added international news service France 24 to its channel line-up.

Through this addition, Netgem's telco customers will be able to access the full 24-hour news services from France 24 though a dedicated over-the-top (OTT) app, delivered through a platform integrating broadcast TV with IPTV and HTML 5-based OTT content. The service will be available immediately to customers of Netgem-enabled EE TV in the UK and Videofutur in France, and will be on live and on-demand in Australia by the end of the year.

In addition to three different 24-hour news channels delivered through the service in English, French and Arabic, viewers can access an on-demand catalogue of current affairs and reports programmes, as well as the latest news, business, sports and weather bulletins.

The deal is the latest in a series of international partnerships that Netgem has signed with major content providers, including most recently the addition of SPI's FilmBox Live, a multiscreen entertainment service which gives subscribers access to live TV channels as well as an on-demand library of sports and fashion programming, documentary films, music videos and art-house movies.

With the addition of France 24, Netgem says that its platform can now provision hundreds of channels and on-demand video services.

"By establishing partnerships with world-class content owners like France 24, we are building a platform that enables telecoms providers to launch TV services with ease without having to worry about their own content partnerships, therefore drastically reducing their time to launch," commented Netgem TV PVX managing director Sylvain Thevenot. "This international distribution agreement with France 24 represents a key addition to the line-up in the news category that Netgem is able to provision, and allows us to incorporate the new service for our existing #TelcoTV customers and all forthcoming international deployments."
