Australia's Channel Nine has commissioned BBC Worldwide and FremantleMedia Australia (FMA) for a local version of UK game show You're Back in the Room.

Produced by Tuesday's Child for ITV, the show pits a team of five strangers against each other on a series of apparently simple challenges, under the influence of hypnotism. Seemingly straightforward tasks will get much harder as their hypnotic triggers cause them to unwittingly sabotage their chances of winning.

In addition to a second series for ITV, French Network W9 and the Netherlands' RTL have also commissioned the format.

It will be the fourth commission to be produced by FMA as part of a multi-year deal with BBC Worldwide Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) for entertainment formats for Australia. Others include Dancing with the Stars for Seven, Rachel Khoo's Kitchen Notebook Melbourne for SBS, and The Great Australian Bake Off for Foxtel's LifeStyle FOOD channel.

"Our partnership with FMA continues to deliver quality TV production commissions, strengthening our portfolio in Australia. You're Back in the Room is perfect entertainment for all the family and we're delighted to be bringing this unique and exciting format to Australian audiences," said Helen Pendlebury, head of business development, BBC Worldwide ANZ.

Karen Smith, CEO, Tuesday's Child, said: "We're thrilled to be working with Channel Nine and can't wait to see the contestants going under Down Under".
