India's Times Group has unveiled the country's first property business channel MagicBricks Now, following its launch by the country's urban development minister.

The real estate channel, formally scheduled to go on air on 1 November, will be a partner in the government's "plans to provide housing for everyone by 2032," said housing and urban development minister M Venkaiah Naidu.

"I hope Magicbricks Now will do the required magic for the sector ... bricks are always required to construct houses, and housing is the most important aspect of anybody's life," he added.

M K Anand, managing director and chief executive officer of Times Network, said Magicbricks Now has been launched as a consumer guide to the complex world of property transactions.

"While real estate is of paramount importance in the life of every Indian, equally the space is full of complexities, jargon and confusion. Magicbricks NOW will provide unbiased, trustworthy and the most authoritative perspectives on the property business," said Anand.

The pay-TV channel's prime sponsor is the real estate website MagicBricks.com, which is owned by Times Internet.

It will be distributed across all commercial direct-to-home (DTH) and cable platforms and is already reportedly present on all platforms that carry Times Network's channels.
