Russia’s longest established DTH platform NTV-Plus plans to launch an OTT service in 2016.

Quoted by Cableman, the company’s general director Aleksandr Vronsky said that it would be a hybrid platform, providing its users with a number of additional services including online broadcast TV channels, VOD and catch-up, and make its debut by the end of next year.

NTV-Plus is keen to build up its subscriber base, which currently stands at over one million, while trying to avoid a fall in ARPU.

One way will be by expanding its presence to Siberia and the Far East of Russia.
