TV everywhere conquers LATAM pay-TV market

Over 75% of Latin America's pay-TV subscribers have access to a TV everywhere platform, reveals the latest Dataxis report.
tvedataxisAcross the analysis of 11 markets - namely Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela - there were a total of 53 TV everywhere (TVE) platforms as of Q2 2015.
The Dataxis report also cited 2014 as the year with the most platform launches to date, numbering seven.
Between 2014 and 2015, Latin American subscribers have seen a marked increase in the supply of TVE platforms from both programmers and TV operators, with 15 platforms belonging to programmers and 38 to pay-TV operators.
Thanks to these new platforms, TVE in the countries analysed has ended thQ2 2015 with a penetration of over 75% of total subscribers.
The programmer with the biggest potential reach in TVE is ESPN - through both ESPN Play in Spanish-speaking Latin America and Watch ESPN in Brazil - with 64.7% of the total pay-TV market.
Second is Fox Play with 59.5%, which has the most TVE arrangements with pay-TV operators.
With regard to countries, Colombia is the territory with highest TVE penetration with 94.6% of subscribers having access, followed by Argentina at 94.2%.
