Video consumption outside TVs is growing in Argentina, particularly among millennials, who prefer to watch video on their computers or mobile devices rather than on a traditional or a smart TV.
The latest Carrier y Asociados report, Internet and the Audiovisual Consumption, points out a trend: youngsters, cord-cutters or cord-nevers, don't pay for TV and therefore don't buy one, preferring to watch content mainly on their computers.
Tablets are also becoming a solid alternative for video consumers, particularly regarding short-length videos, due to their mobility. And smartphones and their increasingly growing screens are becoming the most popular devices to watch YouTube-like content.
A significant proportion of millennials are connecting a regular TV to a second device, such as Google's Chromecast, Apple TV or a computer through a HDMI cable.
In the broader market, Carrier y Asociados, reports that screen size and type are related to the kind of content the owner watches. The longer the duration of the video, the larger the screen that is used.
